The ability to walk alone to school or jut off the endless streets of downtown felt like an upgrade, but each day brought its challenges—even a new car would still have all those old habits that needed updating.

Yet, for those living in rural areas, this change felt like an acceleration of time itself—a glimmer of hope as we waited for what promised to be a better future for all.
